The Green School Athens Hackathon is an open call for collaboration and creativity. It is aimed at middle and high school students, as well as the broader educational community, inviting them to propose ideas and solutions for applications and services that will support the participatory strategy of the Municipality in developing innovative solutions for improving daily life. #greenschoolathens #sustainabilityschool2025

For the teams that will stand out, symbolic awards and opportunities for the development of applications in collaboration with the Municipality and with economic and social entities are anticipated. For all participants, there will be opportunities for collaboration and the chance to present their proposals for applications both to the Municipality and to the organizations and supporting entities that will participate.

The process
Submission of Ideas
ANTIVIRUS CROWDHACKATHON 4KIDS
Along with the innovation marathon, we will be holding online creativity competitions for children and pupils, starting with a painting and crafts competition on #stayhome.
Evaluation Criteria
Innovation of the idea:
The originality and creativity of the application or service idea are evaluated.
Practicality and feasibility:
The evaluation considers whether the idea can be realistically implemented and effectively applied in real-world scenarios.
Presentation and Communication:
The clarity and manner in which the idea is presented during the results presentation event.
Relevance to Hackathon Goals:
How well the proposal aligns with promoting recycling, environmental protection, and energy conservation.
Student Involvement:
The active participation and contribution of students in the process are assessed.
Collaboration:
The level of cooperation among participating students, teachers, and teams.
Potential for Added Value:
How the application or service can provide benefits to society or the environment.
Technological Integrity:
The use of appropriate technologies and the quality of the technical implementation of the proposal are assessed.
Educational Dimension:
The contribution of the process to the educational experience and skill development of the participants is assessed.
Scalability:
The potential for further development of the application or idea in the future for broader usage or on a larger scale.
